The Git project doesn't ship with an installer or any binaries at all.
We only distribute source, which various distributors may compile in a
variety of forms.

It sounds like, from the message, that you are probably trying to
install Git for Windows, which is the most common distribution for
Windows, and so I'd recommend that you report it to their issue tracker
at https://github.com/git-for-windows/git/issues, after first checking
to see if it's already been reported. They'll be able to better assist
you with their specific installer and any issues you may have with it.
