Heh. I wear glasses, keep in warm clothes, and doctors have cured me a
few illnesess... Rather focus on the side of darwinism that lets the
ape with the best/smartest tools win.

Sane setups will have only a few alternate entries --
make_absolute_path() on each of them shouldn't be that expensive,
relateively speaking. We are talking about a few stat()s during repack
for sanity, which is doing massive IO.
