Ah, I was reminded again about a pretty obscure bug with http transport: http-fetch uses all alternates and http-alternates it finds. However, the alternates are wrong, since they are for the ssh:// protocol. So here comes my wish: could you install http-alternates for all forks (and preferably include the http-alternates of a forked project, so that a fork of a fork works)?
