This makes me wonder if it's worth to do the same change in
todo_list_to_strbuf(). #leftoverbits, perhaps?
In todo_list_to_strbuf() we append the short oid to an strbuf before we
call find_unique_abbrev() again so I don't think it should be a problem
there
