I wonder if we can do this instead:

	strbuf_add(&new_author, ident.name_begin, len);

Quick skim through the code and nothing crashes when make test with:

	CFLAGS="-fstack-clash-protection -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2"

I think it's OK to be changed.
