You've cleaned up all the issues (or corrected my understanding) from my comments in the previous iterations of this series; I didn't spot any additional issues in reading over this latest version of the series. However, I would like someone more familiar with submodules and/or config to take a look at the changes to do_git_config_sequence() in patch 4, as I commented on there, if we can find someone to do so.
