Understanding DIRC section of .git/index

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

I am trying to understand how the DIRC section works, specifically the "index entry" section. Can someone point to where in the code index files are generated? I am having trouble locating the exact place.

The documentation (Documentation/technical/index-format.txt) suggests that the code does the equivalent of stat() a file, then write the data into the index file. Is this accurate? Is there any htonl() bit rearrangement? What about for the mode or flags?

Thanks,
