I had little sympathy for what you were trying to do, i.e. killing the coalmine canary that warns users about using older version of Git when there clearly is a sign that a newer one is available to them and they have already used it; there was no problem to be acknowledged. Not before "why is it different this time?" question gets answered anyway. And seeing the same "let's not enable the new extension" patch again without much improved justification contributed greatly to the feeling of not being heard. The feeling is mutual.
