That means that gpg somehow barfs on the keyring. I somehow had the
impression that the keyrings were binary compatible on different
systems... What system do you have?

> gpg (GnuPG) 1.0.6

It is 1.4.5 here.

I have gpg (GnuPG) 1.4.1 here, in the system I used to generate the key.
