My own itch at the time was (de-/)in-dented code from refactoring patches for git.git and JGit (so Java, C, shell); and I think not hurting python would also be good. ignoring the mixture of ws seems like it would also cater free text or other more exotic languages. What is your use case, what kind of content do you process that this patch would help you?
