My patch looks like:

-       memcpy(img->line + applied_pos,
-              postimage->line,
-              postimage->nr * sizeof(*img->line));
+       if (postimage->line && postimage->nr)
+               memcpy(img->line + applied_pos,
+                      postimage->line,
+                      postimage->nr * sizeof(*img->line));

... which I think I prefer (slightly).
