True; by the way, for "am", -u is the default these days by
popular demand.  I do not offhand remember if "applymbox" got
corresponding changes (I think it did).

I strongly agree with the starting-points arguments.  I was
hoping to hear the list to form a consensus to move useful
starting-point examples to contrib/.
