I'm trying to make git for myself, but can't seem to get https working. This is what I did to make it: > wget http://git-core.googlecode.com/files/git-1.7.9.3.tar.gz > tar -xf git-1.7.9.3.tar.gz > cd git-1.7.9.3.tar.gz > ./configure --with-curl --prefix=$HOME > make > make install In a new shell > git clone https://github.com/git/git.git Cloning into 'git'... fatal: Unable to find remote helper for 'https' But my machine does have curl, and that curl can access https urls > which curl /usr/bin/curl > curl --version curl 7.19.0 (x86_64-suse-linux-gnu) libcurl/7.19.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8h zlib/1.2.3 libidn/1.10 Protocols: tftp ftp telnet dict ldap http file https ftps Features: GSS-Negotiate IDN IPv6 Largefile NTLM SSL libz > curl https://github.com/git/git.git <GitHub 404 page, no https error message> Thanks, Nate -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe git" in the body of a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
