OK, so the issue the patch addresses may not be a regression in the upcoming v1.7.9 we want to fix quickly, but if you tried the patch we might see improvements, or we might not see any improvements. I'll hold onto Matthieu's patch for now, then. It would be nice to get this minor detail fixed before the release, though, as any fix would be of limited scope, affecting zsh users for which it is already broken.
