Whups -- you're right.  It wasn't creating ~/.gitk at all, so it was in
as you said -- just like rm'ing it every time.

I tried your patch, and I still get the same result, though it creates a
~/.gitk.  "set geometry(ctexth)" appears in the ~/.gitk file properly now,
though.

I'll keep digging, and sorry for the noise.
