Form our team following changes are required/suggested, then GIMP would be the best fit to be used by the print media companies instead of using expensive software’s. Before you invest the time to modify anything, it's probably a good idea to explore whether or not the changes you want to make are necessary for your project. If the features that you want are not present you can always suggest them to the community as well, some ideas are popular enough to make it into the project.
