That is part of Gimp 2.8 isn't it?
I knwo, that the person I've got the screenshots from does run a kind of
brushmanager called gurmp (?) Could it be possible, that it does have an
effect on gimp-translations?

I don't see any English menu entries in 2.8.0 on Windows, except for third-party scripts and plug-ins - and that is expected.
