Porting gegl operations application

Hi, I'm applying to this year's GEGL operations porting project. I applied last year so I figured that it wouldn't make a lot of sense to do the same code reviews again. I did do a preliminary shift operation though ( https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=673624 ). I am an MS CS student from UMass Boston. I would like to think I'm a better programmer than I was last year, but as always there is a lot to learn.
