Since we don't even have someone maintaining the website I don't think
it is realistic to aim for maintaining a resource server either.

I think it should be possible to specify resource servers much in the
same way you would add repositories to Debian's APT. It needs to be easy
to add resource servers, and it needs to be easy to configure what
resource server to use (so that distros and people can host their own
servers).

Also, don't forget to make sure there is support for resource tagging,
and that we eventually want to rewrite our data infrastructure to use
a plug-in system (so that it is easy to add e.g. a SVG brush loader), and
that we will obsolete data formats and add new ones. This might or might
not have big impact on the final solution
