It is not what you want. GDK is a drawing toolkit used by GTK+ for drawing user interfaces. It is not meant and not suited for drawing to GIMP drawables. You probably want to use the procedures gimp-paint or gimp-pencil that allow you to draw strokes using the paintbrush or pencil tools.
