I am on Mac OS 10.4.11 (Tiger) with XCode 2.5. I am trying to follow the instructions for installing GIMP so that I can build it (then update the code to attempt a bug fix). I am a C/C++ newbie, but do development in PHP and JavaScript, so am not a coding newbie. I've followed the following instructions by doing MacPort installs. I am on the latest version of MacPort. When I try to install the various things the instructions say are required, it gets quite a ways through the procedures before ending with multiple errors. Any idea how I can successfully complete the install?
