This sounds like the interpolation is being done in the wrong
direction; The code needs to compare the angles and interpolate the
angle across the shortest path. ie 0 -> 90 shouldn't go backwards
359..270..180..90 but forwards 0..90; similar for 90 -> 0, etc.
