Yes, it would be a great if you give further details on what your needs are. Maybe your ideas are compatible with current bug fixes or feature requests and could be addressed by the developers, and the whole Gimp project could receive the benefit of your company's funding. AFAIK Gimp has few active developers who do an outstanding work without economic backup.
