Thanks for your attention, I've got a case all written up. http://cim.mcgill.ca/~brohan/compare-case.tar.gz Its as small as I could make it, it does have a lot of GTK junk to get all the stuff together. It makes the same errors as my plugin, to reiterate; to make it crash you can a) Zoom in/out and move around b) Zoom in/out and zoom in the opposite direction again.
