Update: current status is known. Lauris is on vacation and has only
limited access to email right now, but he is working on the project.
The CVS account has been created, too, so the code can be committed when
he returns.
P.S. .. and apparently some of my mails didn't arrive - next SoC, *all*
communication will go over a mailing list
