Hello. This seems like the place to ask this question, but if not, I'll accept any guidance. Trying to compile GIMP 1.2.1, Debian style with ./debian/rules binary and I continue to get the following errors: make[5]: Entering directory `/home/tjm2/download/gimp1.2-1.2.1/plug-ins/perl/UI' make[5]: Leaving directory `/home/tjm2/download/gimp1.2-1.2.1/plug-ins/perl/UI' true || (cd embed && /usr/bin/make all) make[4]: *** No rule to make target `pure_vendor_install', needed by `pure_install'. Stop. make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/tjm2/download/gimp1.2-1.2.1/plug-ins/perl' make[3]: *** [install] Error 2 make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/tjm2/download/gimp1.2-1.2.1/plug-ins/perl' make[2]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/tjm2/download/gimp1.2-1.2.1/plug-ins' make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/tjm2/download/gimp1.2-1.2.1' make: *** [install-stamp] Error 2 The make[4] lines are the ones I'm trying to fix, but with only limited programming ability, I can't seem to find the source of the error. These lines pop up using either 'debian/rules binary' or 'make install' from the root gimp source directory. It seems all the files are compiled properly, this 'pure_install' function seems to be the problem. Any suggestions? thanks, tony mollica
