Gimp 1.0.2 is not for GTK+ 1.2.8, or viceversa. Get a newer Gimp. 1.0.4,
IIRC, can run with GTK+ 1.2.x, or even better get a 1.1.x, it will work with
1.2.8, and you get more of things.
