literature!?

Hi!

I'm a lecturer in image manipulation focusing on the technical
background. I found it very hard to find any information on
more complex filters and algorithms. Books on image processing
provide the basics such as gaussian, median, closing, opening etc.
Some hints in the Graphics Gems are also helpfull. But is there
a book dealing with the "how to" of, i.e., light effects, glass effects
and such things. I want my students to understand only which
button to press but also how to program there own filters.

Any kind of support is highly appreciated!

      Andreas
