The normal usage is colorizing grayscale photos with the use of color photos as color source. Ever tried to colorize human skin using standard techniquees like painting in color mode etc.? Try this with the Sample Colorize plug-in and use a portrait photo as color source. If you created your selection accurately the outcome is just perfect. Salut, Sven
