The GAP (Gimp Anim Package == AnimFrames Menus)
operates on a series of single frames.
Converting Videos to single frames
and vice versa is done by other Programs
outside of the GIMP.

In GAP(Gimp 1.1.9) there is just support to
call mpeg encoder programs.

To write AVI or Quicktime (MOV) videos
you can use one of these programs:

- XAnim Exporting edition (free)
  for Linux
This is a special version of XAnim that exports
whatever it reads as a Quicktime movie
with video and a raw audio file with audio.

- MainActor (commercial Product)
MainActor is available for WINDOWS and Linux.

- Adobe Premiere 5.0 (commercial Product,
                     if money does not matter)
  for WINDOWS.

These Programs can read a series of
single frames (ppm or jpeg).
With "AnimFrames->Frames Convert" you
can convert your Frames to any
(gimp supported) format.
