To boldly go...: I made a first try at i18n for the perl plug-in. everything except the examples has been marked, but gettext is not yet being called and the catalogs (which catalogs?) are not being installed (configuration issues, gettext obviously has never been used with perl), but a pot file is there (plug-ins/perl/po/gimp-perl.pot). Now we need translations... If you want tag your own plug-ins, just prefix your strings with '__', which is exported by Gimp, e.g.: print __"Hello, World!"; (Unfortunately, using a single _ does no good, but its still one character less to type then in C). As a special extension, common prefixes for the menupath (e.g. <Toolbox>/Xtns) are translated by part, which reduces (but only reduces) the menu confusion for non-translated plug-ins. -- -----==- | ----==-- _ | ---==---(_)__ __ ____ __ Marc Lehmann +-- --==---/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / pcg@xxxxxxxx |e| -=====/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ XX11-RIPE --+ The choice of a GNU generation | |
