forcing Debian/trixie system GCC (or Linux Mint) to always compile with DWARF debug info

Hello all,

(I did contribute to GCC long time ago)

I'm using only Debian (trixie/x86-64) or Linux Mint 22 (x86-64).

I'm working on the RefPerSys inference engine project (GPL licensed,
see also refpersys.org amateur website) on
https://github.com/RefPerSys/RefPerSys/ and I want all the GCC
compilation to compile C++ and C code with DWARF debugging enabled.

Is there a way to force the spec file for the system compiler
/usr/bin/g++ to enable -g implicitly.

IIRC, the spec file is builtin the /usr/bin/gcc executable, and to
change it I have to recompile GCC entirely. Can I avoid recompiling all
of GCC?

(due to hardware issues -perhaps faulty RAM- compiling GCC is difficult
in a reliable way).

NB. contributors to RefPerSys are welcome, but I cannot pay them for
that (being retired).

For completeness, here is the output of:

% /usr/bin/g++ -v
Using built-in specs.

So apparently the spec are builtin.

thanks for reading.
