Gcc 9.2.01 on OSX 10.14.4

I wonder if you could help with an apparent bug in 9.2.01.


OSX 10.14.4 Mojave
gcc version : 9.2.01.  (as distributed via homebrew)

Building a library archive with “ar” produces the following error message

ar -v -r lib.a a.o b.o

Error running /usr/local/bin/ar: vfork
