stage1 bootstrap 9.1.0 on RHEL produces 64-bit ELF output in gcc/32/crtbeginS.o

Very strange to see the bootstrap process result in a 64-bit ELF object
within stage1 area :

$ ../gcc-9.1.0/configure --disable-nls --enable-threads=posix \
--enable-shared --enable-bootstrap \
--enable-stage1-languages=c,c++ --enable-stage1-checking=misc \
--enable-languages=c,c++,objc,obj-c++,fortran,go,lto

.
seems to work just fine.

Kick off make and very very quickly ( fast machines these days ) I see :

Right. So. Seems to be a multi-lib issue but not sure where.

$ file ./gcc/32/crtbeginS.o
./gcc/32/crtbeginS.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable, x86-64, version 1
(SYSV), not stripped
$

OKay any hints ?
