Hi, I am trying to build a program which uses half precision numbers. I found that the x86 processor I am using supports the F16 instructions (like vcvtps2ph) by checking the bit_16C in ecx register. However when I tried to include F16C intrinsics I get the following error (I am using the gcc that comes with the ubuntu installation [1].) #include <f16cintrin.h> In file included from main.c:5:0: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.8/include/f16cintrin.h:29:3: error: #error "F16C instruction set not enabled" # error "F16C instruction set not enabled" This seems to be governed by compiler flag __F16C__. Do I need to recompile GCC with options to enable F16C? Can somebody point me to the set of options that I need to use while compiling gcc for F16C intrinsics.
