AFAIK, GCC installation recognizes the Linux Standards Base with no
problems - http://www.linuxfoundation.org/.  So a normal GCC-mpfr
installation should work fine without requiring further options.  The
only other case I've encountered is an installation when the user doesn't
have root privileges, and then you can set --prefix=$HOME.
