Tsah: I am currently involved with building Gcc myself : So a few recommendations:: 1) You need to install a reasonably current makeinfo (textinfo package), version 4.4 or higher is required. 2) Review you release specific Install Instructions and do follow them. 3) Review and follow the Gcc Prerequisites located at: http://gcc.gnu.org/install/prerequisites.html 4) Update the tools and libraries listed in prerequisites to reasonably current versions. 5) Don't forget to update both your search and run time library paths to point to the new tools and libraries. Observing the above recommendations will in the end save you time. Happy Holidays Thomas Dinned tsah marco wrote:
hi I want to install cross compiler , i am using computer with cpu AMD TURION64 and with fedora 8 as Virtual machine, i have succeeded to compile and link and to create bzImage of 32 bit (i386-linux-), now i want to configure the compiler to be 64 bit for AMD athlon k8, i download gcc 4.1.2 and configure it by : ../gcc-4.1.0/configure --prefix=/opt/gcc/gcc-4.1.0 --host=amd64-pc-linux-gnu it create makefiles and then i run: make and get the error:; rm -rf $backupdir; exit $rc WARNING: `makeinfo' is missing on your system.
