Tsah:

   I am currently involved with building Gcc myself :

    So a few recommendations::

1) You need to install a reasonably current makeinfo (textinfo package),
version 4.4 or higher is required.
2) Review you release specific Install Instructions and do follow them.
3) Review and follow the Gcc Prerequisites located at:
http://gcc.gnu.org/install/prerequisites.html
4) Update the tools and libraries listed in prerequisites to reasonably
current versions.
5) Don't forget to update both your search and run time library paths
to point to the new tools and libraries.

   Observing the above recommendations will in the end save you time.
