Additionally, I think there is a completely standalone gcc, http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/ I don't know what it's current status. (not with windows anymore) Personally for me it was much more easy to use MinGW and Cygwin, but the gcc from link I gave worked well too. Regards, Dima.
