Thanks Andrew. I have a follow up question.

Is it possible to have 2 differnt versions and is it possible to change the gcc compiler dynamically ?

It's never a good idea to ovwerwrite the system compiler, but there's
nothing at all to stop you from installing another version of gcc in a
different location.
