Hello Fenghui

You need an installed compiler to compile GCC. You downloaded the source, not a binary (thus it still has to be compiled). You can either install the gcc provided in your distribution or download a binary release of gcc (See http://gcc.gnu.org/install/binaries.html)

Dear GCC-help,
I have downloaded the GCC 4.1.1, when I configure it, it says there is no acceptable C compiler? I think the C compiler is in the downloaded GCC 4.1.1. If I am not right, from where I can get the practical C compiler? I am looking forward to getting your reply. Best regards. Fenghui Fan
