Hi all,

I am trying to build GCC 4.0.3 on Solaris 2.7 and am receiving this
error:

storestg7# /home/wwwtools/temp/gcc-4.0.3/configure
creating cache ./config.cache
checking host system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.7
checking target system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.7

checking whether ln works... yes
checking whether ln -s works... yes
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler

I am root using csh, and here is my env:

I obtained my gcc source from
ftp://mirrors.laffeycomputer.com/pub/gcc.gnu.org/pub/gcc/releases/gcc-4.
0.3/.

My current version of gcc is version 2.9.5. I was trying to upgrade it
because I encountered that "configure: error: installation or
configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables." error
while building MM for Apache.

Any recommendations? Thanks!!!
