Hello,

How do I configure GCC to use the PowerPC backend? I'm running Linux on
PC (Intel Architecture) and I want GCC to generate a PowerPC executable

In the installation guide, there are instructions on how to build a 'cross-compiler', which is what you want.

http://gcc.gnu.org/install/

GUYS, HELP. I can't find the CrossGCC faq. When I go to http://www.sthoward.com/CrossGCC/, I get the message:

The CrossGCC home page, FAQ and mailing list are now managed by Bill Gatliff. Please refer to his web site:

http://www.billgatliff.com/

When I go to that website, I find no reference to the CrossGCC FAQ.

Here's the best I could find:
http://web.archive.org/web/20031207191536/crossgcc.billgatliff.com/crossgccfaq/t1.html

I also found some references to a CrossGCC mailing list:
http://sources.redhat.com/ml/crossgcc/

And for you, David, probably this might be useful:
http://kegel.com/crosstool/
(quote:)This can build many cross compilers already. Perhaps what you need can be solved by this. Dan is a regular on the CrossGCC mailing list.
