linking takes hell long w/ gcc4

hi all,

for what reason? I don't know; maybe we're using templates a bit too
extensiviely, though, meaning to be too tough for gcc; however, linking in
gcc3.4 didn't take that long;

I speak of times where gcc3.4 took up to a minute to link
(libmake/autoconf/libtool based library) our library, and now, using gcc4
(which is unfortunately a requirement, obviousely) takes MORE than 9 minutes
to link;

I'm just having no coffee anylonger I could drink, because I already waited
too long :(

Any reasons for this drastic deprovement?

Regards,
Christian Parpart.
