Dear community,
when trying to build GCC 3.4.3 on an IBM IntelliStation 265 running AIX 5.2
I get the following error message:

The command line used to configure it was as follows:
./configure --enable-languages=c,c++,objc,f77,java --prefix=/opt/local
--enable-threads=aix --disable-nls
The compiler used for the initial stage was /usr/bin/gcc. it reports
bash-2.05$ gcc -v

gcc version 2.9-aix51-020209
The version of GNU Make used is 3.8.0.
As far as I can see, the problem seems to be a bug in the new compiler
itself. Maybe a patch for AIX is needed.
Is there a fix available regarding this issue? Or should I use a different
version of the compiler?
