Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi you're my only hope!!! I'm attempting build "gcc" 3.4.3 on Solaris 8 (=2.8) server, using an NFS linked version of "gcc" 3.3.2. I have a problem on the build of "gcc". 1. I pulled the source down from www.sunfreeware.com 2. I made sure the following packages were installed: bison 1.875d flex 2.5.3.1 texinfo 4.2 autoconf 2.59 make 3.8 automake 1.9 libconv 1.8 binutils 2.11.2 3. I'm following the instuctions provided at: www.sunfreeware.com/gcc.html 4. No matter what, I get the following error: gcc -g -DIN_GCC -W -Wall -Wwrite-strings -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -pedantic -Wno-long-long -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -o cc1 \ c-parse.o c-lang.o c-pretty-print.o stub-objc.o attribs.o c-errors.o c-lex.o c-pragma.o c-decl.o c-typeck.o c-convert.o c-aux-info.o c-common.o c-opts.o c-format.o c-semantics.o c-incpath.o cppdefault.o c-ppoutput.o c-cppbuiltin.o prefix.o c-objc-common.o c-dump.o c-pch.o libcpp.a main.o libbackend.a ../libiberty/libiberty.a Undefined first referenced symbol in file libiconv_close libcpp.a(cppcharset.o) libiconv_open libcpp.a(cppcharset.o) libiconv libcpp.a(cppcharset.o) ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. The problems seem to revolve around "libiconv" (best I can tell), which does exist on the local machine in /usr/local/lib. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what is wrong? Thanks, Kelly
