gcc on solaris - binutils or native tools?

I am about to upgrade gcc from 3.2.2 to 3.4.3. The
3.2.2 install was built to use the native solaris
assembler and linker (Solaris 9); building 3.4.2 is an
opportunity to switch to binutils.

Can anyone give reasons (preferably from experience)
one should or should not use binutils instead of the
native solaris toolkit?

Thanks
