compiling help

    I have an old RH 7.0 linux system. I have gcc-3.4.0 and want to compile
the 2.6.6 kernel. I'm having all kinds of trouble with missing headers and
such. The last line before crashing says
*** init/main.o
    I've been told there are patches I need to compile 2.6.6 or the latest
2.4 kernel 2.4.26. Can anyone help me find this or these patches ?
