> whenever i try to run any ".c" program , the comp gives an error "command > not found" . when i try to view its man page it gives error "no manual > entry for gcc ", but when i list all the entries of man page there is one > gcc296 and g++296 but either of them don,t work . First of all do u have gcc296 or g++296 in ur /usr/bin/ directory.... If u have those two files, then u check ur PATH environmental variable whether it is having the /usr/bin/ path et or not.... If u don't have gcc296, g++296 or if they don't work , then u need to install development tools package from the OS cds.... Normally by default in RHL9.0, gcc3.2 is being shipped.... This might solve ur problem.....
