I have installed and currently use GCC-3.3.2 on a SUN computer with Solaris 2.8. I have used the same procedure to successfully install 6 earlier versions of GCC. I was able to build GCC-3.3.3 without a problem, but attempts to install produce the following error message: ...... make[4]: Entering directory `/sodsim/local/gcc-3.3.3/objdir/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/sparcv9/libf2c' make[4]: `libg2c.la' is up to date. make[4]: Leaving directory `/sodsim/local/gcc-3.3.3/objdir/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/sparcv9/libf2c' : /usr/local/bin/make ; exec true CC='/sodsim/local/gcc-3.3.3/objdir/gcc/xgcc -B/sodsim/local/gcc-3.3.3/objdir /gcc/ -B/usr/local/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/bin/ -B/usr/local/sparc-sun-solaris2 .8/lib/ -isystem /usr/local/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/include' LD='/usr/ccs/bin/ld' LIBTOOL='/bin/sh ./libtool' WARN_CFLAGS='-W -Wall' CFLAGS='-O2 -g -O2 -m64' CPPFLAGS='' DESTDIR='' AR='ar' RANLIB='true' prefix='/usr/local' exec_prefix='/usr/local' libdir='/usr/local/lib' libsubdir='/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/3.3.3' tooldir='/usr/local/sparc-sun-solaris2.8' multi-do DO="all-unilib" /bin/sh ../../../../libf2c/../mkinstalldirs /usr/local/lib/sparcv9 /bin/sh ./libtool --mode=install ../../../libf2c/../install-sh -c libg2c.la* /usr/local/lib/sparcv9 ../../../libf2c/../install-sh -c .libs/libg2c.so.0.0.0 /usr/local/lib/sparcv9/libg2c.so.0.0.0 ./libtool: ../../../libf2c/../install-sh: not found make[3]: *** [install] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/sodsim/local/gcc-3.3.3/objdir/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/sparcv9/libf2c' make[2]: *** [multi-do] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/sodsim/local/gcc-3.3.3/objdir/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/libf2c' make[1]: *** [install] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/sodsim/local/gcc-3.3.3/objdir/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/libf2c' make: *** [install-target-libf2c] Error 2 Can anyone provide some help on this?
