Category: win32 Group: None >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: piequals3 (piequals3) Assigned to: Etan Reisner (deryni9) Summary: escape key cannot be set Initial Comment: I have tried to set the escape key to close the chat window. I have looked and found that I have to make the change in gtkrc but I do not know what the format should be. I have also checked the file accels but it seems to use a different format from gtkrc. The format in gtkrc should be: bind "Escape" { close window } but I don't know.... I am using gaim 2.0.0beta 2 Why was this removed from the preference in the first place? Both MSN and Google Talk use esc? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Etan Reisner (deryni9) Date: 2006-11-01 21:38 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=516184 The answer can be found at http://gaim.sourceforge.net/faq2.php#q24 and the reason the gaim preference for this was removed was so to get gaim out of the keybinding job and leave that up to gtk+ (which has much better systems and is much better suited to the job). gtk+ unfortunately makes binding Escape using the normal method impossible as it grabs Escape as close-menu by default, so you need to modify the accels file by hand to set Escape, any other key can be bound using the normal gtk+ hover-an-press method though. (Sorry it took so long to respond to this, I'm not sure how I missed this when it hit my inbox the first time.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200235&aid=1476868&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
